Science in the Community
Having the students work use what they have learned in the community gives them a sense of relevancy.
Field Trips - Data collection from Buck Creek allow students to view, first hand, the importance of water quality. A trip to the Grandville Waste Water Treatment Plant lets them see how their waste water is treated at the new state of the art facility.
Local Environmental Enrichment Project (LEEP)- Each semester students must work on a local environmental problem and share their results.
Guest Speaker - Drew Swenson from Rockford Construction comes in to explain how civil engineering is being used to develop wind farms and bio-reactors.
